Hopkinton-

William John Keefe, 86, of Plymouth and formerly Hopkinton, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Pauline (Bouret) and William Keefe. Bill Was the beloved husband of 41 years to Judy A. (Johnson) Keefe of Plymouth.  Judy and Bill were life partners who had a long, intensely joyous and loving life together.  They lived in Naples, FL and in Charlotte and Sunset Beach, NC.  Favorite times were golfing at Round Hill, Sea Trail and White Cliffs.  

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by three daughters, Michele Keefe and her husband, Robert Sullivan of Franklin, Alison Keefe and her husband, Steve Cook of Newbury, MA, and Stacy and her husband, Joseph Flanagan of Upton.  He is also survived by his brother, Dennis of Hopkinton and Falls Church, VA.

Bill loved and enjoyed his grandchildren, Meg and Amy Sullivan and Joseph and Michel Flanagan. Bill enjoyed spending  time with his fun loving cousins, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, Judy Gillete Keefe (Jimmy’s Judy) and his wife’s 8 siblings and their families. Bill  is predeceased by his sisters, Pauline Desiata, Nancy Benson and his brother, Jimmy Keefe.

Bill worked in the computer industry during the startup of mini- computers and personal computers.  He managed numerous departments for Computer Control and Prime Computer in Framingham, Data General in Westborough and Honeywell in Waltham and started a Marketing firm. Bill  believed in giving back to the community. He served Hopkinton for many years as Assessor, elected Se!ectman, and was involved in building a ballpark and Senior Housing. In Plymouth, Bill was a member of Cedarville Preservation Committee and an elected Town Meeting member.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 25th from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe St. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint John the Evangelist Church of Hopkinton. Burial will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Hopkinton. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org
