Holliston-

William George Bernier, 80, of Holliston, passed away May 2, 2015 surrounded by his family. For 2 years he fought a courageous and positive battle against Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in which his good spirits never wavered. Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late Florence (Towne) and Arthur Bernier. He was the husband of 49 years to Judith Ann (Butler) Bernier of Holliston.

William was employed for 30 years at the Woodland Country Club. He was a member of the Royal Palm Country Club in Naples, FL where he wintered in his condo. His favorite places were being at the ocean, especially Rockport and Gloucester. Spending time with his children and grandchildren were his greatest joy. His smile brought great joy and he was well loved by everyone that met him.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Jady Babin and her husband Paul of Bellingham, Peter Bernier and his wife Kelly of East Amherst, NY, and Julie Childs and her husband Chris of Bellingham. He also leaves behind his siblings, Lorraine Campbell of Lexington, Jeanne LaPlace and her husband Desmond of Lake Forest, IL, Arthur Bernier of Burlington, VT, Diane Vultaggio of Concord; 8 grandchildren, Nicholas, Jaclyn, Danielle, and Joseph Sarno, Cameron and Riley Bernier, and Sophie and William Childs.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6th from 4-8p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A service will take place in the funeral home on Thursday, May 7th at 11:00a.m. Burial will held at a later date at Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
