Medway – William D. Lewis, 91, died Friday, August 5, 2005 at Tower Hill
Nursing Home in Canton. He was the husband of Janet (LaRosa) Lewis, they
had been married for 50 years.
He had been a resident of Medway for 46 years.
Mr. Lewis was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving 25 years. He held the
rank of master sergeant. His tours of duty included WWII and the Korean
War; he received the Purple Heart, Medal of Honor and the Bronze Star.
Active in the community, he served 8 years as a coach for girls softball and
tennis, and was a member of the Medway Boosters Club for 10 years. Mr.
Lewis was Medway’s Man of the Year last year.
Beside his wife he is survived by his sons; Todd, Chris, Ross and Gary,
daughter; Janeen, and grandchildren; Stephanie, Rebecca, Joshua, Jordyn,
Brady, McKenna and Rhianon.
A prayer service will be held Tuesday, August 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the
Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St., Route 16, Holliston

will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Holliston. Calling hours at the funeral
home will be Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
