Holliston –

William “Bill” Foster, 88, died March 13, 2014 at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth L. (Smith), in 2011. They had married in 1944.

Mr. Foster had been a resident of Holliston since 1959 and had wintered in Florida for more than twenty years. He was a WWII veteran of the U. S. Army, had been the business agent for Bricklayers Local 51 of Framingham, and had served as a member of the Holliston Housing Authority.

He is survived by his son, William Foster, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Blackstone; daughters, Stella “Ginger” Balducci and her husband, Fred, of Summerfield, Fl, and Sharon Hicks and her husband, Edward, of Holliston; a brother, Charles C. Foster of Brewster; a sister, Alice Dunsford and her husband, Clarence, of Brandon, FL; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, John A. Foster.

The funeral service will be heldTuesday, March 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St., Holliston. Following cremation, burial will take place at Edwards Cemetery, Framingham. Calling hours, at the funeral home, will be Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
