Wilfred I. Butterfield III, O.D., 62, beloved husband and father, passed
away unexpectedly, February 22, 2010 while on vacation. For the past 35
years, Dr. Butterfield had practiced optometry in Holliston from his
office at 841 Washington St. Dr. Butterfield has been married to his
loving wife, Christine Swift Butterfield, for 37 wonderful years. His
daughters, Melissa Butterfield West of Hamden, Conn., and Amy Elizabeth
Butterfield of Newton, Mass., take great solace in the fact that their
wonderful dad was with the love of his life when he passed away. The son
of the late Elizabeth M. and Wilfred I. Butterfield. Jr., MD., of
Lincoln, ME. Dr. Butterfield graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in
1965, The University of Maine at Orono in 1969, and the New England
College of Optometry in 1973.

Dr. Butterfield is survived by his wife, Christine; 2 daughters, Melissa
West and her husband Alan, and Amy and her fiance Chris Levasseur; two
sisters, Elizabeth B. Webster of Cape Elizabeth, ME., and Audrey B.
Knight of Harpswell, ME.; brother-in-law Robert Swift of Townsend, MA.
and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, Feb. 28, from 2 – 6 p.m. at the
Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington Street, Holliston. Funeral service
will be held on Monday, March 1, at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational
Church,
725 Washington St. Holliston. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate in
his memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham,
