Funeral Mass: Monday, January 15th 11:00 a.m. St. Mary’s Church of Holliston

Burial: Monday, January 15th, following mass.

Holliston-

Walter E. Baker, 85 of Holliston, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Born in West Rutland, VT, he was the son of the late James Kirk Baker and Agnes (Aines) Baker Woods. He was the husband of 59 years to Alice Baker of Holliston.

A US Navy Veteran, Walter and his wife, Alice were Commissioners of the town of Holliston for 48 years. They were trainers and leaders of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and the Algonquin and Knox Trail Council.

Besides his wife, Walter is survived by three children, James K. Baker of Holliston, Kenneth E. Baker and his wife Tricia Zumach-Baker of Medway, and Susan Jean Baker of Holliston. He also leaves behind 6 siblings, Richard Woods and his wife Margaret of CT, Nancy Caggige, Kathleen  Allen, and Marjorie Carleton all of Rutland, VT, Alice Tabor and her husband Dane of Proctor, VT, and Dorothy DeMaria and her husband Louis of Florida; as well as 4 grandchildren, Brianna, Sydney, Kendall and Kaitlin Baker.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.  at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 15th  at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boy Scouts of America, aplacetogive.scouting.org or American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701 or cancer.org
