North Eastham, MA-

Victoria Regina Markunas, 72, of North Eastham, passed away at Atria Woodbriar Park Assisted Living in Falmouth, MA. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Frances (Michalak) and John J. Chicoine. She was the wife of nearly 48 years to Peter J. Markunas who passed away in 2020.

Vicki was a 1966 graduate of Leiecester High School and attended Emerson College. Her most fond memories are of her time in Europe while Peter was in the Army. After moving to North Eastham, she cherished her days on the ocean, a gourmet meal, prepared by her husband and fresh oysters on the half shell from Wellfleet Harbor. She was an avid artist, demonstrating her talents through woodwork, painting and writing. Vicki thrived being out among people, enjoying conversations about sports and current events. The holy spirit was her true north with friends, family and beloved golden retriever JP,  her guiding light.

She is survived her sister, Geraldine Stawicki of Quinebaug, CT as well as her niece, Marianne Hulten of Thompson, CT;  her nephews, Joseph Stawicki of Enfield, CT and Michael Stawicki of East Providence, RI, and many cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements  are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston.
