Thomas Patrick Weaver, 17, of Hopkinton, died at his home on Sunday, March 21, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Boston, he was the son of John and Susan (Abbott) Weaver of Hopkinton.
Thomas was a 2010 graduate of Hopkinton High School. He was a freshman, JV, & Varsity football player and a former Lacrosse player. He was a two time coach of the girls powder puff championship team. He was class Treasurer during his sophomore, junior, and senior years. Thomas was Prom King and Homecoming King and was Student of the Month in November 2009. He was the top fundraiser in the Hopkinton Relay for Life and was a Camp Lawrence Counselor and a lifeguard at the Charter Oaks Country Club in Hudson. He loved skiing, and spent many of his years vacationing in Rangeley, Maine. He was accepted to the University of Colorado, Boulder, his first choice. He was friendly, beloved and humble.
Besides his parents he is survived by his siblings, Douglas Foster Weaver of Atlanta, GA., Julia Ward Weaver of Hamburg, Germany, Jennifer Abbott Weaver of Hopkinton, his paternal grandmother, Sylvia Weaver of Baltimore, MD., his uncles, Norman Abbott and his wife Donna, Hal Abbott and his wife Gail Hudson, Dana Abbott and his wife Mariellyn, Roger Weaver and his wife Becky, Dale Weaver; his aunts, Barbara Torza and Nancy Burnett. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Jane Abbott Ellis and Foster Abbott, and his paternal grandfather, Maurice Weaver and two uncles, Bruce Abbott and Lowell Burnett.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton, East Main St. from 2:00-7:00p.m. A funeral service will take place in the church on Saturday at 11 am. Burial services in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Hopkinton will be private with his family. Arrangements are from the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton ChesmoreFuneralHome.com.
