Holliston
Thomas A. Tierney 81, of Holliston died Nov. 5, 2002. on of the Late Michael and Ann (Hester) Tierney. He was the Husband of Dorothy M. (Bourque) Tierney of Holliston.

Thomas had spent 2 years at the Jesuit Seminary at Shadow Brook. He was a 1950 Graduate of Boston College and he also participated in Graduate Studies at North Eastern University and M.I.T. He was also the Director of Human Resources at GTE, where he retired after 35 years in 1986. He had also worked at the Human resource Department for the Chancellery of the Arch Diocese of Boston. He was the chairman of the board of directors for V.B.C. Consulting of Westborough. A Marine Veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict he was a member of the 2nd and 3rd Marine Division Associations.

Besides his wife he is survived by 2 sons Michael Tierney of Westborough, LT. Col. Thomas “Smokey” Tierney of Fairfax, Virginia.; 5 Daughters Anne-Marie O’Connor of Syracuse, NY, Peggy Fox of Londonderry, NH, Mary Corcoran of Rehoboth, Ma, Carol O’Connell of Farmington, NH, and Maureen “Molly” Kilburn of Franklin, MA.; 4 Sisters Katherine Doyle of Danvers, MA, Theresa Finn of Hyannis, MA, Rita Jordan of Mountain View, CA, and Elizabeth Cooper of New Port Ritchie, FL. and 22 Grandchildren.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday November 8, 2002 from 4 to 8 PM at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 16) Holliston. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mary’s Church in Holliston, on Saturday, November 9, 2002 at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation in his memory may be made to Saint Mary’s Renovation Fund, 8 Church St., Holliston, MA 01746 or to The Natick Visiting Nurse Association, 209 W Central St # 313, Natick, MA 01760 or the Metrowest Heart Center, 85 Lincoln St., Framingham, MA 01702
