To Teddy Jr the 3rd., Debbie, and every one of the entire Valpey Family... I am just now seeing that Mr. Valpey sadly passed away almost 2 years ago. Back in the late 60's and '70s I was able to visit with him fairly regularly, with my friends at the BIG RED Underwood Farm House. I just watched the entire 1-hour video of the dedication you guys gave him and the memories were brought back to me like it was yesterday. I think next to my Dad Mr. Valpey was someone I adored, looked way up to as the boss, and respected being in his presence, he was always such a help and the smartest man on the planet. The picture to the left above is how I remember him most recently. Probably one of the most laid-back successful human beings I have ever met by a long shot!!! Mr Valpey Sir... you lived a long wonderful life for your family and I Thank You for being part of mine in those unforgettable years, Rest Easy Sir, Your new life I'm sure is as amazing as your life here with us, GOD BLESS you all! Save a seat, send a message, and see you on the other side my friend... you are fondly remembered forever and a day!

My most unforgettable memory of Uncle Ted\'s family was when me and cousin Rodger Phipps (age maybe 7 or so) stole a swim in Ted\'s father\'s pool. I forgot my sneakers as Roddie and I escaped to the woods upon Uncle Ted\'s father\'s return. Uncle Ted\'s mother was so kind to return my sneakers without contacting the police as we were clearly trespassing and swimming in their pool. I am the penultimate Black Sheep Valpey. My dad even worked for Uncle Ted at Valpey Fisher, another black sheep who was interested in anything scientific, particularly quartz. Later on, Valpey Fisher became a leader in amongst other things piezoelectricity. In 2011, the company of my employ produced \"Flameless Candle (see US patent 7,891,580 authored by Valpey). I used Uncle Ted\'s piezo electric quartz in conceiving this idea. Glade is now a billion dollar brand and this product was a huge contribution. I am proud to call Uncle Ted one of my greatest inspirations. Richard S. Valpey III

That photograph of Ted perfectly reflects the personality of the man we had the pleasure of knowing (as a customer). Bright; accomplished; affable. Always a joy to work with. This world could use more like him. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. RIP

My condolences to Ted's wonderful family. He was a regular customer when my late husband and I owned & operated the Oar House. He & Dich shared a love of the sea! Our staff use to argue who would wait on him as he was genuinely a kind, unpretentious man!! RIP Ted.
