It is with great sadness that the family of Theodore G. Bernard, 83, of Ashland, announce his passing. He passed on from this earth on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham, MA. He was the loving and devoted husband of 56 years to Mary (LeMieur) Bernard, formerly of Templeton.

Ted was born in Gardner, Massachusetts on February 4, 1941, and was the son of the late Theodore W. Bernard and Ruth (Mattson) Bernard. He attended public school in Gardner, Massachusetts. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska. Ted spent most of his professional life working as the Office Manager for Victory Supermarkets. His coworkers always remarked on his dedication and loyalty to his job and the company. Ted and Mary spent their retirement years splitting their time between their home in Templeton and their home on Pine Island, Florida. Ted was passionate about the Red Sox and enjoyed attending spring training games while in Florida. He was well known for always donning his Red Sox hat. He was also an avid reader, he especially enjoyed spy novels and military history. Ted was a devout Roman Catholic and took comfort in his faith. He spent his final years at the Residence at Valley Farm Assisted Living in Ashland with his wife Mary.  

Besides his wife, Ted is survived by his three sons, Richard Bernard and his wife Kimberly of Beverly, Stephen Bernard and his wife Brenda of Holliston, and Mathew Bernard of Gardner. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Nicholas, William, and Danny Bernard; Tia and Austin Bernard; and Ann Chagnon and Gabriel Bernard. In addition to his parents, Ted is predeceased by his sister Carol (Bernard) Smith.

At this time no memorial services will be held.  Arrangements are under the care of Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston.
