** please note, date of death is not 11/5. We needed to put that date to bring this to the top of our newsfeed for upcoming service. Unfortunately at this time it’s the only way to bring it to the top.

Janet, you have told me wonderful stories of your blessed mother. She is now playing her piano in heaven. Rest in peace.

I only met her once but having known you Janet I can say she was a wonderful woman. She is at peace and is watching over you all with love and joy.

Ruth Rice was my organ teacher back in 1965. I have been an organist since I was 14 years old and still am at a Methodist Church. I thank God for your Mom's teaching and her gift of church music she passed on to me. I am so sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Rice was my piano teacher years ago. She was a very nice lady.

Ruth Rice was my piano teacher for about 3 or 4 years ( around 1978). The most patient woman, because I had absolutely no musical talent and could not understand how to play the piano. Yet she was kind. She never made me feel bad. She found music for me to play at the recital in her house that was at my performance level. She was my choir director at Hopkinton Congregational Church. (When it WAS THE Congregational Church on Main Street). Again, I couldn't sing a note properly to save my life, yet there she was, week after week, guiding all of us to somehow not embarrass ourselves in front of the congregation. Her patience and love for music and the children she taught will always be an inspiration to me. Now she is in Glory, singing and worshipping our Lord and Savior.

Janet: Your mother was a dear lady and a good friend. We always enjoyed her music at HCC.
