Westborough

Ruth E. Scanlon of Westborough, formerly of Holliston, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2015 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home at the age of 93, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of 45 years to the late Thomas C. Scanlon and the daughter of the late Molly (Riley) and John Clancy.

Ruth worked many years as an elementary school teacher’s aide in the Holliston Public Schools.

Ruth is survived by her 6 children: Ann Cummings and her husband, Regis Cummings, of Montpelier, VT; Chris Scanlon and his son, Colin Scanlon, of Colorado; Barbara Scanlon and her husband, Ed Taipale, of Webster, MA; Molly Carey and her husband, Scott Carey of Douglas, MA; Elizabeth Churchill of Tolland, CT; and John Scanlon and his wife, Kathy-Lee Scanlon, of Upton, MA. Ruth is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 29th from 3-6p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 30th at 11:00a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
