Russell L. Gilstad, age 78, of South Carolina formerly of Holliston, died Saturday, January 10, 2009.

Mr. Gilstad was born in Minneapolis, MN, a son of the late Leif and Emma Pearson Gilstad. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and worked as a computer systems analyst for Honeywell/Bull for over 40 years. He was an active volunteer for SMARC in the Middlesex County of Massachusetts as well as for ARC in Horry County, SC. He was a beloved member and participant in many church programs and activities. Mr. Gilstad was predeceased by his wife, Marion Woodward Gilstad.

Surviving are four sons, Kurt Mosser and his wife, Brenda and Douglas Gilstad all of Myrtle Beach, SC, Scott Gilstad of Melbourne, FL and Peter Gilstad of West Palm Beach, FL, three daughters, Cheryl Moore and her husband, James of Holliston, MA, Diane Joyce of Myrtle Beach, SC and Pamela Parker-Weiderman and her husband, Bud of Silver Springs, MD, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one sister, Barbara Anderson of Duluth, MN.

A funeral home service will be held on Saturday January 17, 2009 at 12 noon at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston 854 Washington St. (Rt. 126) www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:30 – 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
