Rose Gloria Carchio, a lifelong resident of Framingham, passed away at 100 years old on April 2, 2023. She and her husband, Dr. John J. Carchio had been married for 51 years. Dr. Carchio passed away in 1994. She leaves her 4 children: Sharon McComiskey of Phoenix, AZ, Cynthia Mayer of Holliston, Debra Pedersen of Upton, and John Carchio Jr. of Lakeville and their spouses. She also leaves her 9 grandchildren: Craig and Lauren O’Rourke, Jonathan and Alex Mayer, Joelle Senapedis, Ryan Pedersen, and Haley, Abby and John Carchio. She also leaves her 5 great-grandchildren Denise, Anthony, Maxwell, Harrison, and Ellie. She was also the grandmother of the late Justin Mayer. In addition, she leaves many nieces and nephews.

Rose maintained a friendship for over 90 years with Pauline Quigley, her best friend since first grade. Rose was the youngest of 7 children born to the late Rose and James Gentilotti. She was the sister of the late Clara Lupachini, Josephine Pirstl, Emma Tuminello, Viola Wales, Salvatore Gentilotti, and James Gentilotti.

Early in their marriage, Rose was a dental assistant to her husband John. Family and faith were always at the forefront of her long and full life. She spent many years volunteering her time at St. Stephens Church, St. Tarcicius Church, St. Bridgets Church, and Columbus Hall, all while being a full-time mother. She was also an avid bowler and bocce player. With her husband, they created many beautiful memories traveling, dancing, and socializing with friends. They especially enjoyed summer vacationing with their family on Cape Cod and Hampton Beach. She was an active participant in many charity events including the American Heart Association fashion shows as a model. She was well known for her class and style. For the last 9 1/2 years she had been a resident of Heritage Assisted Living of Framingham and loved her many friends and the staff members there. Thank you to all those who were a part of her long and full life. She loved you all.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 11th at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in St. Tarcicius Cemetery in Framingham. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation, 20 Horseneck Lane, Greenwich, CT 06830 in memory of Rose’s grandson,Justin Mayer.
