Roger Q. Elliott, 69, died March 27, 2006 at the University of
Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. He was the husband of Mary Ellen (DePaolo) Elliott, they were married for 49 years. Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Maurice and Thelma (Tucker)Elliott. He had been a resident of Holliston since 1959. He was a graduate of
Wayland High School class of 1954. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast
Guard. He had worked for Digital Equipment Corp. for 25 years and Riverside Community Care in Dedham for 10 years. While at Digital in Maynard, MA he worked with disabled children and also for a short time while living in Vermont and in Holliston. Mr. Elliott was an EMT with the Holliston Ambulance, had been a manager for Holliston Little League and Hockey programs. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed all sports and had played football in high school and in the Coast Guard. He also enjoyed carpentry and making
custom cabinets.
Beside his wife, he is survived by his sons, Michael and his wife Kim of
Texas, Brian of Holliston, Kevin and his wife Kim of MA and Peter and his
wife Taitia, of Maryland; a brother, Everett and his wife, Mary of NH;
brothers-in-law, Jim DePaolo and his wife, Renee, of MA and Joe DePaolo and
his wife, MaryEllen, of, MA; seven grandchildren, Colin, Cameron, Patrick, Megan, Lizzy, Emily and Ashley, several aunts, nieces, nephews and close friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 1 at 10:00
a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Washington St. Holliston. Burial, with military
honors, will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Holliston. Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington Street, Route 16, Holliston
Donations in Mr. Elliott’s memory may be made to the Michael Lisnow Respite
Center, 112 Main Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748
