Robert N. Christensen, 84, of Holliston, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Born in Hartford, CT., he was the son of the late Hans and Gertrude (Norden) Christensen. He was the husband to Renate (Aschaffenburg) Christensen of Holliston.

Formerly of Natick and Sherborn, Robert was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and was a CPL. in the Army 4th Infantry. He received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for actions in the Normandy Campaign. When he returned to service he served as an MP. Robert was the founder and owner of En-r-gy Saver in Holliston where he worked until retiring in 1990. Prior to En-r-gy Saver, he worked at Bird and Son for 23 years. Robert served as a Deacon and was a longtime member of the Hartford Street Presbyterian Church in Natick. He was passionate about gardening, fishing, photography, music, traveling with family, fixing things and his summer home in Wareham.

Besides his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his son, Robert Christensen Jr. and his wife Linda of Holliston, 3 daughters, Barbara Christensen of Ashland, Donna Dearth and her husband Roger of Keene, NH., Linda Wright and her husband Bill of West Hartford, CT., and his sister, Betty Wallerstein of San Francisco, CA. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Paul, Mark, Amy, Megan, Allison, Jack and Natalie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 5-7p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. (RT. 16) www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A memorial service will take place at 1:00p.m. on Saturday at Hartford Street Presbyterian Church in Natick.
