Robert J. Moore, 85, of Holliston, passed away January 5, 2013 at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northbridge, after a period of declining health. He was the son of the late Jerome and Mary (Driscoll) Moore.
A WWII US Navy Veteran, Robert was a past Commander of the American Legion Post 47. He was a former owner of Fiske’s General Store in the 1950’s and worked for the U.S. Post Office for a number of years. He owned and operated the Robert Moore Monument Co. of Holliston for more than 30 years, from which he retired.
He is survived by a daughter, Rachel Currie of Hopedale and her fiance Charles MacRae; one brother, David Moore and his wife Ann of Holliston; three grandchildren, Alexandria, Sierra, Zachary, and one great granddaughter, Melanie; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John “Jack” Moore and sisters, Mary Blair and Anne Wise who were all of Holliston

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8 from 4-7p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:30a.m. in St. Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Renovation Fund, 8 Church St. Holliston, MA 01746 or to Downtown Marigold Fund, 310 Woodland St. Holliston.
