I am so profoundly sorry to hear of the loss of the inimitable Robert H. Norton. It was such a blessing and privilege to grow up next door and to have been the recipient of the love and generosity that enfolded our small family into yours over the years. Cecil's tribute brings back SO many memories, to which I'll add Bob's keen and fierce intelligence, his near super-human powers of observation, the incredible pride he took in each and every one of you, along with the indelible childhood memories of fabulous parties, formal dinners, home movies, trips to the fireworks at Bowditch field, Edaville Railroad, and Santa's Village at Jordan Marsh in Boston. I especially remember one heated argument with my father in the field one summer evening, but I can't remember if it was over which of them was older, smarter, more handsome...or heavier! His friendship and guidance also meant so much to my mom over the years. Please know that my grief is added to yours, and that my heavy, grateful heart holds a very special place for your remarkable husband and father. Love and Sympathy, Linda

To all the Nortons, please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. From the time I first set foot inside your house, Mr. Norton as well as the rest of you, made me feel like I was accepted as part of the family. I remember when day around dinner time, I was getting ready to go home and he made me stay and eat dinner with the family. That was the kind of man he was. I also remember that he purchased the first videocamera I can recall so that he could tape our HHS football games in the early 70's. And of course, he always had some comments to make me laugh. To my dearest friend, Bob, I love you bud, as well as Mike, Kathy, Ed, Christa, Kevin and Collin...and a special thank you to Ginny for allowing me to grow up as a part of your family. There's another twinkling star in the sky tonight
