I moved to Fall River in 1938 at the age of 8 and shortly after getting settled I registered at the Highland Grammar School nearby. The Principal said that one of the students in Second Grade,Robert Cox,lived two blocks from me and she would have him stop by my home and walk me to school my first day. From that day on we were great friends.I knew all of his family very well and he could not have been a nicer friend. We both went off to college in different cities and I left the area after graduation and we lost track of each other.I returned to Fall River after a few years but we didn't connect up.I pass his"homestead" often and I remember those great days when we were young. He had a lot of friends and was liked by all,a trait that you, as his children, can be proud of.

Dear Melissa & Bobby, I had the pleasure of working with your dad at the Fall River 5 Cents Savings Bank a long time ago when you were kids. Talking about you both would always make him smile. He and your mom were always so kind. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
