Richard F. Brown, of Holliston, died on Saturday, May 17, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. Dick was the husband of Barbara H. Brown. Born on April 3, 1928, he was the son of Margaret A. Brown and Robert T. Brown of Boston. Dick was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. With a degree from Boston University and a Master’s Degree from Northeastern University, Dick went on to teach in the Framingham and Natick school systems, and was English Department Chair of the latter.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his niece, Joanne M. Smith and nephew Richard F. Smith and his wife Martha Shea Smith of Weston, as well as his great-niece Meagan M. Smith and great nephew Benjamin Shea Smith. Dick and Barbara, a teacher as well, traveled during many summers. Dick was an avid football and baseball fan and enjoyed walking and exercise classes. He had a terrific sense of humor and was a gracious gentleman all his life.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22nd from 9:30-10:30a.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A mass will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Holliston at 11:00a.m. with burial in Dover. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
