Richard E. Stickney, 78, of Holliston, died Friday, July 25, 2008 at the
Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. Born in Framingham, he was the son
of the late William and Grace (Hutchinson) Stickney. He was the husband of
50 years to Elfreda B. (Heffron) Stickney of Holliston.

A lifelong Framingham resident, he was a Framingham High graduate of 1947
and a 1972 graduate of Northeastern University. He was a veteran of the
U.S. Marine Corps serving from 1947-1952. He was a member of both Alpha
Lodge and Mt. Hollis Lodge of Masons as well as a fifty year member of
Aleppo Shriners, The American Legion and the Marine Corp League.

He retired from Verizon, going back to New England Telephone where he had
worked over 40 years. After retirement, he worked another 5 years as a
contractor for Verizon. In his early years he had worked as a rigger for
C.P. Larvabee Riggers in Framingham. He worked many different jobs and
departments for the phone co. but his favorite was his last 15 years as
the line foreman in Milford, MA. He was very fond of animals and became
very attached to the many dogs he had throughout the years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 1 son, Albert (Skip) Snow and his wife
Terry of Medway, and his granddaughter Michelle. He is predeceased by a
brother, William E. Stickney who passed in 2003.

Visitation will take place on Monday, July 28, from 3-7p.m. at the
Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. (Rt.16).
