Holliston-
Richard D. Burrows, 76, of Holliston, died Saturday, December 27, 2008 after a long illness. Born in Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Worthington Burrows and Sophie (Sarnecki) Burrows. He was the husband of 57 years to Shirley M. (Young) Burrows of Holliston.

A Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Holliston Legion post 47 and a lifelong member of the Ashland VFW. He was also a member of the Polish Club in Uxbridge. He worked for many years as an electronic technician at Hayes Instruments in Billerica. He loved country western music and was an avid reader.

He is survived by 3 sons, Robert Burrows and his wife Deborah of Milford, David Burrows and his wife Lynda of Holliston, and Allan Burrows and his wife Roseanne of Holliston. He also leaves behind 2 brothers, Jerrold L. and Lyndon R. Burrows, both of Ashland, and 9 grandchildren, Kim, Jamie, Jason, Jonathan, Brian, Justin, Crystal, Victor and Christine, as well as 10 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by 2 brothers, Frederick J. Burrows and Worthington T. Burrows.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 2, from 4-7p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. (RT. 16) www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association 40 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701
