Holliston-

Richard Allen Clark, 76, of Holliston, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Helen (McNally) and Samuel W. Clark.

Richard was a machinist by trade and had a long running passion for Drag Racing. He was awarded Racer of the Year in 1972 and 1973 at New England Dragway. In 2016, he was inducted into the New England Hot Rod Hall of Fame in Epping, NH. Richard was an innovator, one of his most noted creations was the self made titanium bolts he custom made for the engine of his ’69 orange Corvette. He was always looking for lighter, better and faster.

He is survived by his siblings, Betty Mcleod and her husband Robert of Amherst, NH, Mary Short and her husband Herbert of Glendale, AZ and William Clark and his wife Susan of Albuquerque, NM. He also leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews and the many friends that raced with him and against him. He was predeceased by a brother, Chester Clark.

Private services will be held with family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 9 Erie Dr. Natick, MA 01760 or lls.org or to a Racing Charity of one’s choice.
