Hopkinton- Raymond J. O’Neill, 90, died Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at his
daughter Kathy’s home in Shrewsbury following a short illness.
Born in Framingham, MA on June 9, 1913, he was the son of the late John and
Elizabeth (Kirby) O’Neill.
He was the husband of Louise A. (Mueller) O’Neill who died in 1995.
Mr. O’Neill was a member of the 1931 graduating class of Boston College High
School and a 1935 graduate of Boston College. He was a lifelong BC football
fan. He was a long time resident of Hopkinton before moving to Shrewsbury.
Mr. O’Neill was employed by the Framingham Post Office and retired as the
Assistant Post Master.
He is survived by a son; William A. O’Neill of Margate, FL; three daughters,
Mrs. James (Constance) Remby of Hopkinton, Mrs. Stephen (Mary) Brustin of
Duxbury and Katherine O’Neill of Shrewsbury; and six grandchildren, Meghan
(Remby) Varas, Caitlin (Remby) Mezzano, Drew and Adam Brustin, Elizabeth
(Brustin) Strong and Kyle O’Neill. He is also survived by a great
granddaughter Cianna Varas. He was also the father of the late David K.
O’Neill and brother of the late Reverend William A. O’Neill and Arthur G.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 30 at 10:00 a.m. in St.
John the Evangelist Church, Church St., Hopkinton. Burial will follow in
St. George’s Cemetery in Saxonville.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, August 29th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the
Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton.
