Ashland – Pudenciana Zapanta Hernandez, 84, died July 12, 2004 at the MetroWest
Medical Center in Framingham.
She was the wife of the late Agripino Hernandez.
Born in Pampanga, Philippines she was the daughter of the late Epifanio and Severina
(Simpai) Zapanta.
A college professor of economics, Mrs. Hernandez moved from the Philippines to Ashland
17 years ago upon retiring. She was a refined pianist in her own right, loved entertaining
her family, enjoyed writing and reading.
She is survived by her sons, Rustico Z. Hernandez of Sta. Rita, Philippines, Arnulfo Z.
Hernandez of Laguna, Philippines, Emmanuel Z. Hernandez of Hamilton, Canada and
Alberto Z. Hernandez of Sta Rita, Philippines; daughters, Carmelita H. Galiguis of
Ashland and Erlinda H. Pineda of Sta. Rita, Philippines, her brother; Jose Zapanta, DMD,
10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s
Church, Washington St., Holliston. Burial will be in Sta. Rita, Philippines.
Calling hours will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854
Washington St., Route 16, Holliston
