Paul S. DePhillips, 83, passed away on February 7, 2023. Born in Flushing, New York, he was the son of the late Rose (Marino) and Andrew DePhillips. He was the husband of 56 years to Rosemary (Regan) DePhillips.

Paul grew up in Queens, New York. After graduating from Bayside High School,  he received his undergraduate degree from Manhattan College, and his MBA from Pace College. Shortly after, he found his partner in life, Rosemary, at the renowned Buzzy’s restaurant in New York. The two moved to Massachusetts where they eventually settled in Sherborn, MA to raise their family. Paul worked in Boston as an Executive at OneBeacon Insurance where he retired after 40 plus years in the business. Paul was kind, loving, and a gifted storyteller with an incredible sense of humor. He was a passionate sports fan, and was a soccer coach for many years. He was affectionately known as “Coach Vicious”. He took pleasure in golfing, cooking, and working around the house. He was very handy and enjoyed making model boats and attempting to fix almost anything with his toolbox and left-over items in the “junk drawer”. Paul especially loved going to Kennebunkport, Maine and going on road trips up and down the east coast. He will be remembered for his great devotion to his wife and the joy he experienced when spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Paul is survived by his six children, Paul (Andrea) DePhillips, Jeanine (Chris) Hughes, Keith (Jennie) DePhillips, Dawn (Jason) Bacchiochi, James (Andrea) DePhillips, and John (Jenn) DePhillips; his grandchildren Stephan, Carlie, Emma, Drew, Will, Abby, Jake, Rae, Tate, Ben and Rylie; his sister Merry (Maria) DePhillips, his sister-in-law, Michelene DePhillips; as well as many nieces, nephews; and his beloved dog, Tiger. He is predeceased by his brother, Andrew DePhillips.

Friends and relatives are invited  to attend a funeral Mass on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church, 8 Church Street, Holliston MA. This will be immediately followed by a reception at Anthony’s on the Green, 212 Prentice Street, Holliston MA, to raise a glass and celebrate the man that meant so much to so many.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Institute, dana-farber.org
