Medway and formerly Holliston-

Patricia Ann Monahan, 84, of Medway, and formerly of Holliston, passed away November 14, 2020. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Mary Ellen (Coughlan) and James Higgins. She was the wife of 48 years to the late William P. Monahan Sr. who passed away in 2017.

Patricia loved being surrounded by friends and family. She was loved by everyone who came in contact with her, whether in the line at the grocery store, on the sideline of a game with a cowbell, or just warm caring touch in the nurses office. Her laugh was infectious and her smile inviting.  She lived life with kindness and a vigor that was enjoyed and celebrated by all. Patricia earned her RN at Bon Secours Hospital in Maryland and spent years healing the sick in various capacities; the ER at Leonard Morse Hospital, St Patrick’s Manor nursing home, and most recently as a Holliston School Nurse.

Patricia is survived by her brother James Higgins and his wife, Janice of Hyde Park; Patricia’s children, William P. Monahan, Jr. and his wife, Crystal, of Scituate, James Monahan and his wife, Melissa, of Medway, Maryellen Trzecieski and her husband, Allen, of Buford, GA, and Sara Sheehan and her husband, Christopher, of Medway; eight grandchildren, Graeme Monahan, Jake Monahan, Celia Monahan, Kayla Hood, Patrick McWilliams, William Trzecieski, Charlee Trzecieski, Ryan Sheehan; great-grandchildren, Elora Hood & Isayah Hood; and many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, a graveside service will be held privately with family at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.hollistonpantryshelf.org. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
