Norman B. Morrison Jr., 92, of Englewood, FL. and formerly Holliston, MA. passed away after a short illness on May 28, 2012.
Born in Boston, MA. Norman graduated from Brookline High School in 1937 and from Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., in 1941. A World War II veteran of the United States Army, he served in North Africa.
A resident of Holliston, for 35 years, Norman was elected to the Holliston School Committee for several terms, also serving as chairman. He was a member of the Holliston Historical Society and was appointed to various town committees. Norman was always active in church affairs. He was a founding member, senior warden and vestryman of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, and, after moving to Florida, he was a member, senior warden and vestryman of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Englewood.
He leaves his loving wife of 65 years, Marjorie (Sheehan); his three sons, Bruce J. (Sandra) of Burlington, Iowa, Brian J. of Huntington, MA. and Brett J. of Holliston, a brother, Alan F (Joy) and a sister-in-law, Alice all of Needham; two granddaughters, Heather Donovan (Bryan) and Jennifer West; great grandchildren twins, Ava and Conall Donovan; special friends Cathleen H. Morrison, Dr. Kenneth and Sandra Janes, Richard and Linda Wood, and several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by a brother, Ronald L., and a sister, Peggy McGowan.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 in the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com Inurnment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA., at a later date.
