Nancy Constance Hoye, 90, of Framingham and formerly of Holliston, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Born in Santa Monica, California, she was the daughter of the late Sara (Young) and William Ortgier.
Nancy grew up in Bell, California, where she was class president at Bell High School. She went on to study at UCLA and later worked as a dietitian in New York City and New Jersey. She eventually made her home in Holliston, where she raised seven children. Nancy loved spending time in her organic vegetable garden, tending fruit trees, flowers, and herb gardens. Her family had a hobby farm with laying hens, hogs, ducks, geese, and rabbits. She enjoyed spinning and weaving and was a member of the Weaver’s Guild of Sherborn. The Hoye household was the hub of the neighborhood with outdoor games and lots of fun. Nancy was an excellent cook who made everything from scratch. She was always in the kitchen with wonderful smells wafting through the house. She loved sharing her skills through cooking, weaving, and spinning demonstrations at the Holliston Historical Society, and by hosting tea and birthday parties for the building when living at Sherwood Village in Natick. Nancy was a devout Catholic, and her faith was an important part of her life. She truly believed in living each day to the fullest.
Nancy is survived by her seven children: Patrick Hoye (Barbara) of Franklin, Eileen Hoye of Holliston, Michael Hoye (Sisi) of Holland, Vincent Hoye (Eileen Conti) of Chester, NJ, Maureen McCarthy (John) of Framingham, Kathleen Hoye of Westborough, and Delia Sattelmair of Farmington, UT; her many grandchildren, Jocelyn Hoye (Chris Eddy), Sean Hoye, Sara Hoye, Carolyn Hoye, Robbie Hoye, Xiaoxing Sattelmair, Ann Hoye, Elizabeth Hoye, Jack Sattelmair, Julia McCarthy, Meredith Hoye, and Sarah Sattelmair, and her great-grandson, Lucas Eddy. She is survived by her sister Alice Schonfeld of Carlsbad, CA, and predeceased by her siblings, William and Clara Catherine Ortgier.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16th, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holliston Food Pantry, 73 Charles St., Holliston, MA 01746.
