Holliston – Michael Joseph Fanning, 40, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at his
home with his family at his side, following a long illness.
He was the husband of Mary Ann (Radock) Fanning. They had been married for
19 years. He was a resident Holliston and a police officer for the past
fourteen years with the Holliston Police Department. He was president of
the Holliston Police Association. He was assistant coach for his boys in
football, baseball and Lacrosse. He was active with physical fitness, loved
his motorcycle, computers, the outdoors and fishing. He was instrumental in
bringing the Holliston Police Department’s computer technology into the 21st
century, created and maintained the Holliston Town Web site.
Beside his wife he is survived by his three sons, Christopher Michael,
Nicholas James and Peter Joseph Fanning, all of Holliston; mother-in-law and
father-in-law, Rose and Peter Radock of Marlborough; sister-in-law, Pam
Filion and her husband, John of NH and their son, Ryan Filion of NH; an
aunt, Betty Shephard and her husband, John of Shrewsbury; a brother, Edward
Fanning of Taunton; a sister, Laura of Florida.
There are no public visitation hours.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 11 at 12:30
p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Washington St., Holliston. Burial will follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Chesmore Funeral Home,
