Holliston – Matthew W. Wilson, 82, died Nov. 11, 2004 at his home.

He was the husband of Nellie (Squire) Wilson. They had been married for 56 years.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he was the son of the late Edward and Janet (Robertson) Wilson.

He was raised in Braintree and was a graduate of Braintree High School and a graduate of Boston University.

He was retired from the John Hancock Insurance Co., Boston where he had been Chief Account Executive.

Mr. Wilson was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in WWII at Philippine Fort and also a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving during the Korean War.

He was an avid golfer, known for his great sense of humor and enjoyed his Vero Beach, FL winter residence.

Beside his wife he is survived by his daughter; Joy Grady and her husband Paul of Holliston, sisters; Ella Bartlett of Jacksonville, FL, Janet Dewhurst of Andover, MA and Helen Van de Walker of Vero Beach, FL, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Ronald P. Wilson who died in 1973.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Holliston. The Rev. Ernest Batten will officiate. Burial will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 16 in the family lot at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington ST., Route 16, Holliston.
