Shrewsbury-

Matthew Peter Franchitto, 24, of Shrewsbury, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, July 9 2020, after a long struggle with addiction. Born in Newton, he was the son of Lisa (Carcerano) Franchitto of Middleborough and Steven Franchitto of Shrewsbury.

Matthew was a graduate of Tri-County High School in Franklin. He enjoyed motorcycles and had a love for classic cars. Matthew loved his family and close friends.

Besides his parents, Matthew is survived by two brothers, Steven Franchitto of Shrewsbury and Andrew Franchitto of Milford; his paternal grandmother, Donna Reeves and her husband, Richard Reeves of Sherborn; his paternal grandfather, Louis Carcerano of Brighton; his aunts, Victoria Bozyczo and her husband, Joe, and Gina Adamson and her husband, Jay, all of Holliston; as well as many cousins. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Florence Franchitto, and his aunt, Nell Drews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. Interment will he held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Matthew’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org. Due to current restrictions, face coverings must be worn, and social distancing must be adhered to.
