Mary Christine Flatley, 48, of Millis, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the cherished youngest daughter of Mary C. (Jackman) and James P. Flatley of Orchard Park, NY (formerly of Fort Myers, FL and Hamburg, NY).

In addition to her parents, Mary is survived by her seven sisters, Jean Hickey (Dan) of Ft. Myers, FL, Tricia Caviness of Tampa, FL, Betty Kozan (Rick) of Bratenahl, OH, Kate Burke (Ed) of Marshfield, MA, Ellen Roth (Kevin) of Lockport, NY, Carolyn Robertson (John) of Collins, NY, and Polly Resetar (Jim) of Orchard Park, NY. She will also be greatly missed by her 14 nieces and nephews: Caitlin, Emma, Jimmy, Grace, TJ, Maggie, Will, Andy, Jane, Theresa, Sean, Danny, Claire and Catherine; two great nieces Mary and Rosie; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mary graduated from Boston College with a Masters in Education and was a loved and respected member of the English Department at Holliston High School for 20 years, teaching AP English Literature. She was a mentor and friend to her students both past and present and spoke of them often with great pride.  Mary was always the life of the party and made everyone smile with her quick wit and inimitable laugh.  She had a great love of books and passed that love on to her nieces and nephews, giving each of them a carefully chosen book every Christmas. Mary loved cooking, baking Thanksgiving pies, and spending time with her beloved dog, Phil.  She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Buffalo Bills.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 20th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 16) www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 21st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will take place in Hamburg, NY. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to The Holliston Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 6786 Holliston, MA 01746.
