Mark Joseph Rowinski, 65, of West Kingston, RI, passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2015. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Marion (Grzedzinski) Rowinski of Calabash, NC and the late Joseph Rowinski.

Mark started and was the director of the Physical Therapy Doctoral Program at URI for 25 years. He was on the advisory board at Marist College and worked for Marcotte Physical Therapy in North Smithfield, RI. He loved helping and supporting others, including his patients. An active man, Mark enjoyed sailing, kayaking, ballroom dancing, gardening and had a love for pets.

He is survived by three daughters, Beth Boland and her husband Brian of NC, Katie Rowinski and her significant other Matt Danhof of Knoxville, TN, Jennifer Arruda and her husband Gabe of Rockland, CA; 3 sisters, Nita and Linda Rowinski both of NY and Sharon Rowinski of NC. He also leaves behind his significant other, Kathleen Jackson of Millis, his granddaughter Ellianna, as well as 3 nephews, Bryan, Matt and Alex VanDeusen.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd from 6:30-7:30p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com. A funeral service will follow visitation at 8:00p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to ALS Association, www.alsa.org
