Mark Andrew Chase, 68 of Holliston, MA, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Born in Boston, he was the adopted son of the late Augie (Robertson) and William L. Chase. Mark, was also predeceased by his biological mother.
Mark lived a carefree childhood riding his bicycle and enjoying the great outdoors. He excelled in hockey as a high school student. Mark spent much of his working life driving a tractor-trailer across the eastern seaboard, where he found immense joy in his vocation. He cherished the independence and freedom that came with the open road, always eager to explore new areas of the country and meet new people along his journeys. When he was not driving his tractor-trailer, he was driving his beloved GTO, which he meticulously cared for.
Mark was an avid fan of Boston’s sports teams. He could effortlessly cite the names of all the players from each of Boston’s teams, along with their individual statistics.Among all of the teams, Mark was particularly known for never missing a Boston Bruins hockey game.
In his later years, Mark faced the challenges of living with bipolar disorder. Like many others navigating similar struggles, he found it difficult at times to remain consistent with his medication regimen leading to moments of profound uncertainty.
Mark should be remembered for his great big smile and overall acceptance of folks. He was known for his generosity and hopefulness. Mark was very patriotic and loved his country. He has actively supported many veteran and children-related organizations and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Mark will be terribly missed by his five cousins, Earle, Leslie, Charles, Lauren, and Andrew Chase, along with their respective children; and his nieces and nephews, Linda Langston, Richard Robertson, and Gail Charles, Wayne Ellison, and Marion Robertson.
A graveside service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery in Natick on Wednesday, October 30th at 11:00 a.m. where he will be buried alongside his parents, Augie and William Chase.
