Marion Elizabeth (McDonough) Johnson, 93, of Hopkinton, died Sunday, January 11, 2009. Born April 15, 1915 in Marlborough, MA she was the daughter of John George Alfred and Mary (McGee) McDonough. She was the wife of the late Frank T. Johnson Sr.
She is survived by four children: Son, Frank Johnson and his wife Marjorie of Upton, Daughters: Mary Clark and her husband Robert of Hopkinton, Sandra Fairbanks and her husband Robert of Hopkinton with whom Marion resided, and Janice Copithorne and her husband James of Framingham.
Grandchildren: Erik and Scott Johnson, Timothy, Gregory and Kevin Wright, Susan Fairbanks Murphy, Richard Fairbanks, Matthew Copithorne, Stephanie Copithorne and the late R. Michael Fairbanks.
Great-Grandchildren: Megan, Elizabeth, Casey, Christopher and Ally Johnson, Jaime, Daniel, Justin, Kayla, Shannon and Dana Wright, Meredith and Allison Copithorne, Cameron, MacKenzie, Kyle and Luke Fairbanks, Ryan and Tara Murphy and the late Brenna Johnson.
She is also survived by her brother, Richard McDonough of Marlborough, brother-in-law Herbert Thorpe of Manchester NH, sister-in-law Mary McDonough of Marlborough and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing her brothers: George, Walter, Raymond, Ernest, William and Ralph McDonough, and her sisters: Helen Thorpe, Kathleen “Doris” Bastien and Frances Clark.
She retired from Colella’s Supermarket in Hopkinton and was previously employed by Brown & Smith in Hopkinton.
She was a member of St. John’s the Evangelist Church and a member of the former St. John’s Catholic Women’s Guild and the Hopkinton Couples Club.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 13, from 4-7p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Church in Hopkinton. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Hopkinton.
