Linda Joan (Kerr) Turcotte passed away on February 4, 2023 at the age of 72. Linda was born in 1950 in Feeding Hills, MA to the late Arthur and Anne Kerr. She graduated from Framingham State College with a degree in English in 1971. Linda sent letters to a nice young man she had met who was serving in the Army in Vietnam. When he returned from his service, they began dating. Linda and Ron were married in 1972 and celebrated their 50th anniversary last year.

With a teaching certificate in hand, Linda accepted a job at a middle school in Holliston, MA in 1971. She and Ron would raise a family and spend the remainder of their marriage there. Linda enjoyed volunteering her time at the Framingham Public Library and the American-French Genealogical Society in Woonsocket, RI. She traced her ancestors as far back as the 1500’s.

Linda was brilliant and creative. She began sewing in childhood, going on to teach others this important craft, including nearly 30 years at the Fabric Place in Framingham. She enjoyed the morning newspaper, watching her grandchildren grow up, reading, baking, knitting and sewing, and hiking in the woods (preferably with her dog, Lily).

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ron; her two children, Susan Smolski and her husband, David of Charlton, MA, Ethan O’Brien and his spouse, Jen of Minneapolis, MN; and her three grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, and Elia. Linda is also survived by her brothers, David Kerr and his wife, Marilyn of Needham, Peter Kerr and his wife, Anna of Needham, Bruce Kerr of Feeding Hills, and her sister Susan Halloran of Framingham, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved dog, Lily.

A private ceremony will be held for her family. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Holliston Pantry Shelf, P.O Box 6662, Holliston, MA 01746 or online at https://www.hollistonpantryshelf.org/donate-funds.
