Holliston-

Linda A. Brooks, 69, of Holliston, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Metro West Medical Center in Natick after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Audrey (Evans) and Robert Tarte. She was the wife of the late Ira E. Brooks who passed away in 1998.

Linda was retired from Bethany Health Care, where she had worked for many years as a Medical Records Director. She was active in the Congregational Church, was a member of the Holliston Emergency Response Corp. and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society as well as many other foundations.

She is survived by her children, Master Sergeant Charles McIntyre of Grottoes, VA, Lori Brochu of Southborough, Dawn Allala Woodward of Framingham, and Chris Brooks of Milford. She also leaves three step-children, her siblings, Robert Tarte of Ft. Myers, FL, Terene Micciche of Framingham; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren,nieces and nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd from 5-8p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A visitation will also be held on Thursday, September 4th from 10am-11am at the Congregational Church in Holliston. A funeral service will follow at 11:00a.m. at the church, followed by burial at Lake Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Congregational Church, 725 Washington St. Holliston, MA 01746 or American Cancer Society.
