Mashpee – Leonard J. Mooney, 78, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at his home following an illness. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Titus) Mooney.
Formerly of Holliston, he had moved to Mashpee in the 1980’s.
Born in Newburyport, MA he was the son of the late Arthur and Marjorie (Adams) Mooney.
Mr. Mooney had served with the National Guard. He had owned and operated L and N Tools of Holliston until his retirement in 1997.
Beside his wife, Mr. Mooney is survived by his sons, James Mooney and his wife, Tara, of Franklin, Bryan Mooney and his companion, Barbara, of Northbridge; his daughter, Deborah Norton and her husband, John, of Middleboro; 9 grandchildren, Chanyn, John, Eryn, Rob, Sarah, Greg, Meghan, Katherine and Ryan; and three great grandchildren, Cole, Jackson and Blade.
He was the father of the late Kathleen Megargee and brother of the late Norman Mooney.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St., Routes 16 & 126, Holliston www.chesmorefuneralhome.com
Rev. Randel Bassett, pastor of Our Savoir Lutheran Church, Mashpee, will officiate. Burial will follow in the family lot in Lake Grove Cemetery, Holliston. There are no public calling hours.
