Lee James Panoff, 68, of Holliston and Juno Beach, FL, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Mass General Hospital in Boston. Born in Maryland, he was the son of the late Alfred and Florence (Gurvitz) Panoff. He was the husband of Carol A. (Woodcock) Panoff of Holliston and Florida.
An all around good guy, Lee was a car enthusiast who enjoyed his grandchildren, car racing, storytelling, t.v., playing cards, watching the stock market, boating, the ocean, Cape Cod and snowmobiling. He also took joy in traveling, and especially loved Florida. He was the owner of Alpen’s Inc. and also the New York Store. Lee was a hard worker and good provider and showed his children how to be independent.
Besides his wife Carol, Lee is survived by his children, Wendi Koffinke and her husband William of Franklin, Tracey Martin and her husband Christopher of Pawtucket, RI, Robin Parente and her husband Darren of Boston; and his brother, Robert Panoff and his wife Jeannie and nephew Joseph Panoff of Miami, FL. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Carli, Christopher, Jason, Matthew, Ashley, Julia and Brylee.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 1:30-3:30p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral home service will follow visitation at 4:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Rd. #400 Waltham, MA 02451 or www.lungne.org
