Holliston-

Katherine Marie McGilvray, 91, of Holliston, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Ida Marie (Thibodeau) Hingston and Raphael J. Moloney. She was the wife of the late Reece Edward McGilvray Jr.

Kay had been a registered nurse and during her nursing career worked at Boston City Hospital, as a school nurse, and at the Vernon House. She volunteered at the school library, the voting polls, and the Holliston Food Pantry. She was actively involved in Saint Mary’s Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the former Women’s Guild, WINGS, Parish Council, and Mr. & Mrs. Club. She enjoyed travel, especially her vacation to Rome to visit the Vatican and Jerusalem, where she had the joy of swimming in the Dead Sea.

She is survived by her children, Reece E. McGilvray III and his wife, Roberta Dugas of Brandon, FL, David C. McGilvray and his wife, Karen of Franklin, and Mark J. McGilvray of Holliston. She also leaves behind her siblings, Pauline Hayes and her husband, Harry, Patricia Moloney Dugas, Nadine Cramer; her grandchildren, James, Matthew, and Mark McCumber, Molly, Megan, David, Samantha, Sarah, and Stephen McGilvray; as well as her son-in-law, Stephen McCumber of Hull;  4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter, Katherine Anne McCumber and her brother, Charles Moloney.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St.www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 9th at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in the Parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Holliston Food Pantry.
