Katherine, on behalf of the Lifrieri Family, we want to wish you our sincere condolences. My Mom (Auntie Mary) just called and gave me the horrible news. I feel sorry that we havent stayed in touch and had no idea of Karl's illness. It was over 25 years ago, but we remember Karl and were so glad that a great guy came into your life! Our prayers go out to you and the entire family for strength to carry you though tough times like these. We love you and although we cant be there in-person next week, we will certainly be praying and thinking of you! ps, I know this is not the best forum for this, but here's an update on us: Uncle Joe is about to turn 90 this year; Dawn & I are in Tampa and have room for you if you want to visit, Cousin Johnnie lives in Antwerp working for US homeland security, Cousin Joanne is still in Seattle, but also bought a home in Ca. She is retiring this year from Microsoft (little brat). We have all been blessed as Im sure you have as well. No one can take away all the great memories!! Wish I could give you a big hug!! Love cousin Tommy!

Karl and some of the Sun Life running crew.

I keep flipping through pictures of all of our good times together with the crew and saddened that we were cheated out of more fun times. I am trying to find the right words, but I think John Grove captured it best. RIP my friend.

Karl and the boys. Also - Kathy, Karl and Kevin

I knew Karl in high school and I talked to him recently and he told me of his health. Yet he was upbeat and with not a shred of self pity. It was great to speak with him and I am truly saddened that it was the last time we will connect. What a great guy. He will be missed.

Nothing about this is easy, and it just hurts. Those of us who consider Karl our friend are feeling empty. My heart hurts for you, and I grieve with you.

One of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. His generosity and kindness knew no bounds. Rest in peace, Mr. Sparre🕊️

I am truly saddened to hear of Karl\'s passing. My deepest condolences to all of his family especially his wife Kathy. I was fortunate enough to work with Karl while at Sunlife...he in our US office and me in Canada. I have ever hit it off so beautifully with someone. He was def. More than a colleague. He was a friend. Karlos my friend. His energy and spark and enthusiasm just got the better of you. I was lucky enough to be one of those people who he reached out to in the end. I am more than honoured and privileged to have been on that list.
