Judith May (Cox) Weiler, of Holliston, MA, died peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on October 21, 2014 after courageously living with an illness for several years. Judy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dick Weiler; her two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Bonnie and Bob Marsden and Cindy and Bill Laubach; and her three children, Rick and Jenn Weiler of Winnetka, IL, Susie and Matt Fontaine of Sherborn, MA, and Amy Weiler of Charlestown, MA and Amy’s fianc?e Steve Cowley. Her seven grandchildren, Ben (14), Graham (12) and Maeve (9) Weiler and Will (20), Jack (17), Eliza (15) and Owen (8) Fontaine, will miss their Gramma very much.
Judy was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1939 and later moved to Needham, MA where she attended Needham High School. Judy graduated from Middlebury College in VT and moved to Cambridge, MA where she was an elementary school teacher prior to marrying her husband in Philadelphia, PA. Together they raised their children in Sudbury and then Longmeadow, MA. They moved to Peterborough, NH in 1995 and then retired to Cape Cod before moving to Holliston in 2010 to be closer to family. Judy was an exceptional woman, a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She devoted much of her free time to her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Gardening clubs, book clubs, attending the symphony with her friends, and volunteering for children centered groups were also important to her.
Judy will always be remembered for her sense of humor, patience, strength, and grace, which were ever present throughout her life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 27, at 11:00AM at Pilgrim Church, 25 South Main Street, Sherborn, MA. We ask that those who wish to make a donation do so to AFTD or any charity of their choice. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
