Holliston-

Joseph John Blazys, 90, of Holliston, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 8, 2014. Born in Lithuania, he was the son of the late Ona and Joseph Blazys. He was the husband of the late Edith (Raulinaitis) Blazys.

Joseph came to the USA in 1949 to flee communism. He retired from Raytheon after 26 years of service and was a member of the Lithuanian Charitable Society in Shrewsbury, which was part of Maironis Park. Joseph was also a member of St. Mary’s Church in Holliston, volunteered at the Holliston Food Pantry and enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing, snow skiing, and sailing.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Blazys Jr. and daughter Lorie A. Blazys, both of Holliston, and several nephews and one niece. He is predeceased by two sisters, Helen Scigla and Egle Gircys and his late fianc? Mary “Mickey” Kelly of Natick.

All services will be private. Donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to Friends of Holliston Police, K-9 Unit, 550 Washington St. Holliston, MA 01746 Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston.
