José M. Rodriguez, (68) of Holliston, the beloved husband of Judith A. DeWitt, died May 20 after a bike accident.

José was born in Madrid, Spain. He earned a BS in Engineering from the University of Madrid, an MS from the University of Chicago, and an MBA from Boston University. He spent thirty-five years in industry both in the U.S. and abroad. After retiring, José taught international business at both BU and Clark, including Clark’s COPACE program in Israel and Poland. He also was a much loved teacher in area high schools.

José was a flamboyant charmer, a total people person, a clown, a patriot and a big thinker. No conversation was ever short or boring. A conversation with José was always genuine, exhilarating and challenging. He was proud of his Spanish heritage but he was passionate about being an American.

José was an avid bike rider and volunteer. He worked to support the Holliston Food Pantry, the Holliston Rail Trail, Asociación Cultural Española as well as being an active member of the Holliston Democratic Town Committee.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
