John R. Stone Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 100, on November 17, 2022 in Milford, MA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He was born in Elwood, CT to parents, John and Sylvia (Roberts) Stone. John grew up in CT with three sisters and one brother who predeceased him, Phyllis Emmons, CT, Virginia Allen, FL, Nancy O’Brien, CT, and William Stone, CT. He later lived in West Simsbury, CT with his wife Ethel Stone (deceased) and he leaves his daughter, Cynthia Stone and her husband, Andrew Tagavi, NH, step-daughter, Quinn Eurich, CT and granddaughter, Izabelle Tagavi, MI.

After living a short time in Pompano Beach, FL, he met his current wife, Andra Stone and moved to Milford, MA and was a devoted husband for over 34 years. Through marriage he leaves a daughter, Wendy Arcudi and her husband, Joseph and Kenneth Bliss, and his wife, Michele. Also thru marriage, he leaves 5 grandchildren, Joseph, Giovanna and Anthony Arcudi and Lucas Bliss and Zachary Packard. As an uncle, he leaves nieces and nephews in CT and FL.

Over his lifetime, John had a passion for horses and expressed that love by teaching horsemanship in CT and in Roxbury, VT. He was a lifetime member and Captain of the First Company Governor’s Horse Guard in Avon, CT. He was also a member of Willys St John #4 Masonic Lodge, W. Hartford, CT and Sphinx Shrine, CT Mounted Sheiks, CT. He retired from Heublein in Hartford, CT after 30+ years.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 10th 11:30-12:30 at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St. Holliston. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please send Donations to Shriners Hospital or the American Heart Association.
