Holliston-

John “Jack” F. Gray, 83, of Holliston, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 surrounded by his family at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Mary (Maguire) and Luke Gray. He was the loving husband of 56 years to Carolyn Gray of Framingham.

Jack grew up in Dorchester, served in the US Air Force, and attended the Manter Hall School in Cambridge before earning his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Northeastern University. He worked in the electric utility industry for over 50 years and ran his own business, J.F. Gray & Associates, until his retirement. He was a member of the Franklin Elks, an avid golfer and member at Pinecrest Golf Club and was a founding member of the Holliston Youth Hockey Organization (HYHO).

He is survived by 5 children, Robert Gray of South Hampton, NH, James Gray and his wife Molly of Springfield, VA, Kelly Donovan and her husband Stephen of Marshfield, John P. Gray and his wife Michelle of Milford and David Gray and his wife Deborah of Melrose.

He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Nicholas, Samuel, Luke, John (Jack), Joseph, Matthew, Alison, Axel, Kathleen, Patrick, Liam and Collin. He also leaves a sister, Kathleen Roth of Hingham. He is predeceased by 3 sisters, Rita O’Brien, Marie Larson and Anne Patterson and his brother, Luke (Bud) Gray.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 2nd from 4-7p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 8 Church St. in Holliston on Friday, October 3rd at 11:00a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s cemetery.
