Joanne K. Fitzgerald, 70, of Holliston, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Raised in Reading, MA, she was the daughter of the late Laurel (Hanson) and John Keith. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to Paul J. Fitzgerald of Holliston.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Leigh Fitzgerald and Jenna Fitzgerald (partner Dennis Aleff). She also leaves behind her siblings, Virginia Keith, Jeffrey Keith, and his wife, Deborah, and Robert Keith.

Joanne had previously worked at the First Congregational of Holliston and Fisk Memorial United Methodist Church of Natick. She took great pleasure in crafting and was always working on a new project. For years she knitted hats for preemies that she donated to hospitals and most recently found a love of quilting.  She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower beds. She also loved a good shopping trip.

Joanne always put others first and cared deeply about everyone who crossed her path. She took joy in brightening people’s lives and was always there to support anyone who was in need. Her generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 17th at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Natick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Inst. dana-farber.org or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org
