Hopkinton – Jeremiah “Jerry” P. Grady, Jr., 78, died March 11, 2006 at his home in Tarpon Springs, FL following a long illness.
He was the husband of Carol (Brown) Grady.
Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Marjorie (Cossack).
Mr. Grady had been a long time resident of Hopkinton and Holliston and currently resided in Rockland, Maine and Tarpon Springs, Florida.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, operations engineer, 11th Airborne Division, member of the D.A.V. in Milford, MA and the American Legion and V. F. W. in Holliston.
Mr. Grady was construction engineer and had worked many years for Perini Corporation and then for more than 30 years for Richard White Sons. He was a 61 year member of Local # 4 International Union of Operating Engineers. He had been a member of AA and celebrated 21 years of sobriety.
Besides his wife he is survived b his children, Karen Sass and her husband, Larry, of Salem, OR, Geraldine Richards and her husband, Bob, of Silverton, OR, Joann Senner and her husband, Eric, of Woodburn, OR, Danielle Grady of Gorham, ME, Karen Giffen and her husband, Kevin, of Mansfield, Dawn Hill and her husband, Randy, of Salem, OR, Jeremiah “Skip” Grady, III, and his wife, Susan, of Hopedale, MA, Shawn Grady and his wife, Beth, of Boyton Beach, FL, Daniel Tyler and his wife, Kristin, of Sharon, MA and Kevin Tyler of Dorchester, MA, sisters, Jackie Powley of Champlain, MN and Sandy Rol of Brooklyn Center, MN, a brother, Michael Grady and his wife, Deborah, of Ashland, MA, 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joanne Kenny and Patricia Parker.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St., Hopkinton at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 17. Burial will follow in St. John’s Parish Cemetery, Hopkinton.
Calling hours, at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton,will be Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
